Cherry Picking - May 2011

I love attempting to be crafty and domestic. Life usually gets in the way of what's on my bucket list, but Memorial Day weekend we were able to spend the weekend with our friends at their new cabin (trust me, I'll post about the cabin). On my list for the weekend was picking cherries at Mercier Orchards. Remember awhile back when I took Noah and another friend to pick strawberries? U-pick farms simply make me happy!

We ventured out early so we wouldn't die in the hot, blazing sun. There were lots of cherries to be had and they tasted great! Even those in the bunch that don't like cherries ate some and enjoyed them!

And last but not least, Mercier Orchards is known for their apples and in the North Georgia Mountains where there are apples there are fried apple pies! After picking cherries, well one of us had a snack of pies before the picking because he just couldn't wait, we all enjoyed a snack of fried pies. We had a grand time and maybe next year, I'll try and make something yummy from the cherries.
