Big Boy Bike

Noah has a tricycle at home and his favorite thing was to see how fast he could go. Tricycles aren't meant to be fast, hence the hunt for a new bike began. We weren't sure that Noah was tall enough for a big boy bike, but we were wrong, dead wrong. We started looking at the smallest bicycles on the market, but soon learned he was tall enough for the next size.

We let Noah choose between the two that fit him best and he chose a Tony Hawk Otter bike. It's bright orange and as Noah deemed it goes "really fast." Daddy opted not to put the trick pegs on the bike until Noah learns to control the bike a little more.

Fitting Noah for a helmet was a bit more difficult. You see Noah has a big head. None of the helmets for preschoolers fit him. In fact, the one that fit him, although a bit snug, was for a five year old. We bought it, but weren't happy with the awkward fit. Before heading out to the park the next morning, we stopped by the local cycle shop. We explained our dilemma and in a few short minutes we were headed out the door with a better fitting helmet. And yes, it cost three times what the first helmet did, but we put safety first here in this family!

We're off for some more bike riding!
