Noah adopts a favorite book every few weeks that becomes required reading multiple times per day. A few months back it become Where the Wild Things Are. We had read it on occassion before, but suddenly Noah was really into it. Especially the parts where Max tells the Wild Things to "Be still!" and when he tells them goodbye. Noah's interest gave us the idea of letting him be Max for Halloween. The poor decision on our part was to make the costume. We are not tailors. After way too much work, it turned out incredibly well. We were impressed with our handywork, especially the ears, bushy tail, whiskers, and clawed feet. Noah loved looking at it and talking about it. Ask him if he wanted to wear it, and he consistently answered no.

For his costume parade at school, he wore it with ease. We think this was due to his friends having costumes on his teachers being the ones doing this dressing. Halloween night was a different story. For the first dressing to trick-or-treat at our neighbors, we bribed him with a sucker. For the second dressing at Sharon and Lisa's party, we held him down.
