This past weekend we had the chance to spend some time with Dan, Autumn, and Elijah in Charleston, South Carolina. The trip was sort of unplanned, but never in a million years would we say no to going to the beach.
On Friday we enjoyed a yummy dinner on Shem Creek. The first place we stopped at had an hour and a half wait. We ventured to another restaurant and only had to wait about half the time.
On Saturday, after battling the angry mob at the hotel breakfast, we spent the morning on Folley Beach. To our surprise Noah liked the sand. He sat down and began playing almost immediately. Noah was exhausted from our morning ventures, so we returned to the hotel to let him nap. Dan and Elijah checked out the pool and the gym.
That afternoon we went downtown to shop and walk around. Of course we found time to eat seafood again, this time at the famous Hyman's. While waiting for our table, we had a chance encounter with April's roommate from her freshman year of college - small world.
We had plans on Sunday morning to go the sunrise Easter service on the Battery, which started at 6:30am. But Noah was up several times during the night (meaning we all were up several times during the night). Instead, we found a later service and then had lunch on the river.
